Yam Dwitiya Bhai dooj

Yam Dwitiya & Chitragupt Puja

A Day of Divine Bond and Righteous Living

According to our scriptures, on this day Lord Yamraj, the God of Death, visited His sister Yamuna Devi. She lovingly welcomed Him with a tilak, aarti, and sweet offerings. Touched by her devotion, Yamraj granted her a boon that any brother who visits his sister on this day and receives her blessings will enjoy long life and prosperity. Since then, this day has been observed as Bhai Dooj, celebrating the eternal bond of love and protection between brothers and sisters.

The same day also honors Lord Chitragupt Ji, who keeps the divine record of all human deeds. Devotees perform Chitragupt Puja to seek forgiveness for past actions and to be guided toward truth, justice, and righteous living.

Let us pray to Lord Chitragupt for wisdom, purity, and strength to always follow the path of dharma.

May this day bring love, harmony, and divine blessings to all families.
